Juan Corrales CEO Of ISABEL, New Chairman ISSF Spain, September 16, 13

It has been announced that Juan Corrales, CEO of Spanish tuna canner, Conservas Garavilla, will take over the position of chairman of the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF). Corrales will replace Chris Lischewski, CEO of Bumble Bee Foods, who has stepped down from the position after serving two consecutive terms.

He takes this position alongside his role as CEO of Garavilla, part owned by MCH Private Equity since 2006. His family founded the company in 1887.
Corrales has held a variety of positions throughout his career which ISSF believes have given him a deep understanding of the tuna industry in many markets and throughout the global supply chain.
ISSF states that he later led Garavilla’s international expansion and took executive marketing responsibilities in the Spanish market and has been in charge of procurement since 2009.
Additionally, it was announced that Javier Garat of Cepesca, the Spanish fishing confederation, has also joined the ISSF as board member.
