Jesus And The Tuna Sandwiches United Kingdom, September 3, 13

English actor, James Burke Dunsmore portrayed Jesus Christ as he handed out tuna sandwiches on Brighton Beach. It came as part of a reenactment of the ‘Feeding of the 5,000’ in Brighton, England.

Dunsmore said: “I hope that people will react to the act of giving. Being given something for nothing is disarming. As actors we are all moved by this story. That’s the reason we are here.”
‘Jesus’ took to the beach along with 12 disciples, dressed in 1st century Palestinian costume and offered thousands of free tuna, prawn and salmon sandwiches to represent the handing out of loaves and fish.

A spokeswoman of the Bible Society, who organized the stunt said: “If Jesus was here today, he would be at places like Brighton beach, generously sharing his message, with everyone – regardless of who they are or where they are from.

“Handing out sandwiches on the beach is one of the ways we’re trying to bring a famous Bible story alive for the 21st century.”
