Vietnamese Rescue Filipino Tuna Fishermen Again Vietnam, February 7, 13

Vietnamese rescue another four Filipino tuna fishermen

Four Filipino fishermen in distress were taken ashore on February 5th by the trawler PY-90144TS of Luong Cong Xuyen from Phu Dong Precinct, Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province.
Previously, on January 23rd, fishermen on Xuyen’s ship spotted the four Filipinos while fishing tuna about 100 nautical miles from the Song Tu Dong Island, Truong Sa Archipelago, Khanh Hoa Province.

Immediately, Vietnamese fishermen brought the victims to their boat and gave them first aid and food.
After going ashore, the Filipinos received health checks and shelter while waiting to be repatriated.
It is not clear, though, whether the rescue of these four fishermen was related to Typhoon Pablo.
Last December, Typhoon Pablo hit the country’s southern Mindanao Island leaving 352 crew members unaccounted for.
