Tuna Key Focus At Seafood Summit Hong Kong, September 6, 12

The 10th International Seafood Summit is taking place this week in Hong Kong and the sustainability of tuna resources will be a key focus.
Topics include MSC certification of tuna fisheries, management challenges faced by the regional governing bodies, strategies for reducing the increasing fishing pressure on tuna species, and initiatives to improve the future outlook of tuna stocks globally.
The Seafood Summit is an annual event that assembles members of the seafood industry and conservation community for discussions, presentations and networking around the issue of sustainable seafood.
This year’s theme of “Evolving Solutions for New Horizons” encourages proposals to be “forward thinking and outcome-oriented,” according to the event’s website.

The three-day event takes places Sept. 6-8 at the Kowloon Shangri-La. Last year, more than 700 delegates from 31 countries attended the Summit.
