European Tuna Conference 2009 – ONE Trip, DOUBLE Results

Atuna.com is pleased to organize the 2nd European Tuna Conference, which will take place on April 27th in Brussels, Belgium, just one day before the European Seafood Exposition (the world's largest seafood show).

The European Tuna Conference 2009 will focus on the change of supply and market situation for tuna markets within Europe. It will bring together leading raw material suppliers, fishing companies, tuna processors, brands, distributors and traders, as well as retailers and bankers to debate and discuss the challenges and opportunities within the tuna industry.

The conference will be aimed at the tuna professionals who deal with the production, packing, import/export, marketing and distribution of fresh, frozen and canned tuna to and within the European Market.

Reputable speakers, such as Joe Hamby (Tri-Marine International), Susan Jackson (International Seafood Sustainability Foundation), Gorjan Nikolik (Rabobank) and Martin Hall (IATTC) will be talking about the following subjects:

  • Raw material supply & state of the stocks;
  • Sustainability & environmental issues;
  • Economics & outside factors;
  • Price & supply tendencies;
  • Innovations & new trends.
In addition, the European Tuna Awards 2009 ceremony for the following categories will be held during the Conference: “Most Innovative Tuna Product”, “Best Quality Tuna Product” and “Best Tuna TV Commercial”. All European tuna processing, marketing, distribution companies and supermarkets are invited to submit their tuna product for the competition.

The Early Bird registration fee is EUR 325 (+VAT). This special rate is available for registrations received with full payment latest March 15th 2009.

The standard registration rate is EUR 395 (+VAT).

The fees include one full day conference at the Sheraton Brussels Hotel, with coffee &refreshment breaks, as well as a midday business luncheon and an evening network cocktail party. The delegate’s will receive a Conference Kit with conference documentation, as well as a CD-rom containing all the conference papers.
