Alba Adds 3 Confiscated Boats To Their Fleet

The Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (Alba) industrial fishing joint-venture company will receive three more ships, seized and commandeered after the owners were implicated in illegal maritime activities. Socialist Institute of Fishing and Fish Farming (Insopesca) director, Gilberto Gimenez has announced the beginning of the tuna fishing season sending out two fishing boats that have the capacity to store between 35 to 80 tons of fish and can remain at sea for 20 to 25 days. The three newly-added seized boats have a bigger capacity, can carry a crew of 70 persons and are equipped to fish in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Chile.
